The party decided to continue searching in the dungeon going through the door that they revealed behind the throne
they followed the tunnels back to the room with the frozen water in the ring hovering over it
they tested the ice which seemed firm and then Katya decided that she would grab the rings since she was in the line of protectors and clearly the dungeon was compromised now
when she grabbed it the ice started to crack and she got sucked under the water. Before being sucked under though she was able to kind of get to the edge and she left the ring on the ice kind of shore of the pool.
a water elemental Rose from the water and started attacking them.
it also froze some ice over the ring like it was trying to take it back
Otto was able to break the ice and grab the ring.
each of them tried to put on the ring but felt that it rejected them.
Katya was able to get out of the water
the cave started shaking and rocks started falling caving in the way they came in.
Callum spotted sunlight peeking through another exit and Caoimhe bombarded it.
as they were escaping Katya got slammed by the water elemental and sucked under dying.
the party was horrified by her death but had to flee and they ran out of the cave before the water elemental could kill them too
they followed the exit for a while and came to a dead end.
there was small holes where skylight was coming into the cave though.
Otto ast from wingardium leviosa and lifted Caoimhe out of the whole
Caoimhe let down her rope and help the rest of the party out almost dropping Otto but she was able to cast arresto momentum before he hit the ground
the rest was interrupted by two hooded men coming up close to them where they overheard them say that "Nyx" was injured in that the dungeon had caved in.
they tried to sneak away but we're intercepted by another hooded man who looked at them like he was wearing death Eater robes and a face mask.
Caoimhe immobilized him with immobulus, and they ran the other direction
the other roped men heard them though and came up to them asking where the ring was. Finlay swallowed the ring to keep it hidden.
they tried to deny it. The road to Man cast crucio on Otto and eventually Callum gave in and begged them just to give the ring.
Otto gave him the decoy ring. Hungry for power the man put it on and started writhing in pain.
the other man got angry and started to cast avada Kedavra at Otto but was interrupted by Tobias Crane and Rafael Santos, two ministry Aurora who were sent to rescue them after they had been discovered with the trace.
Tobias demanded to know how the children got there. Rafael was the nicer of the two and suggested they get out of there before discussing.
they operated to the outskirts of Hogwarts, where carriage is waiting for them. The children noticed that they could see the thestrals pulling the carriage now.
Tobias questioned them in the carriage ride to Hogwarts. Otto finally told him almost the truth. He told them that there is an underground market where kids were selling illicit things to each other at Hogwarts and that they took a potion to do better on a test but all the sudden couldn't remember things and ended up somehow being transported to the spider cave. After that he told him pretty much everything the truth except about the ring.
Tobias said he needed proof of the underground thing. Eventually Callum caved and told them about June's Midnight Market.
when they got back to Hogwarts they were scolded by professors, and given 24/7 escorts for the rest of the semester.
June's midnight market was shut down and everyone blamed Callum. Funny enough June was the only one who didn't seem to mind too much.
over summer they convince their parents to let them stay at otto's estate where they studied about Seylon (who they discovered is callum's ancestor). They didn't find anything else out about death eaters. Everything that they've read says that they don't really exist anymore but there's always rumors about small groups of former death eaters causing trouble. They also didn't find anything on the ring but they did get a fancy Magic jewelry box made for it that only they can open with their blood.
when they came back to school they were still giving escorts but not as strict.
on the first day of potion class wizzlethorpe called them into his office.
he said he knew what they were doing and he knew about the tower. But he surprised them when he said he wanted them to go back to the Tower.
he had a vanishing cabinet installed in their dormitory that they could use to access Firefly cellar.
He told them the death eaters they captured that were attacking us were questioned, and there's a group of death eaters called bellatrix's children that are looking for relics that Seylon made.
there's a legend that he created one super powerful relic that can bring back people from the dead.
he revealed that seylon was a very powerful wizard who is known for his ability to create magical items.
after his wife died and then his daughter died from a sickness he became obsessed with creating a magic item that could revive her.
he poured all his effort into that Tower to find a way to revive her. He went bad over the experiments.
Bellatrix's children believe he succeeded, but most others don't.
he revealed that he needs them to go into the tower because only children can enter. When adults try to go in they just see a tower abandoned and in ruin. It's some sort of powerful enchantment that he put on the place.
