The group had just left the Ice Spider Hollow and were looking around the cold environment around them (very snowy/windy).
A polar bear came out of the trees. Finlay tried to calm it down with his marble but wasn't able successful. The polar bear attacked him.
Otto and Callum let off some attacks and Caoimhe eventually cast petrificus totalus on it, so it was frozen.
They heard whistling from the forest, and Caoimhe used her Nimbus Striders to fly up to the top of the trees and see: an old man with a staff gathering herbs. He appeared to be a wizard. He started moving in their direction.
Finlay and Callum ran to hide behind the same tree (being kind of obvious), Caoimhe stood by the bear in the open, Otto successfully hid behind another tree.
The man (Oleg Mirnov) approached and was shocked and asked what they were doing there. Caoimhe answered with a lie that they had been on a field trip and got separated, but he did not buy it. Eventually he convinced them to come back to the village with him to get warm.
Back at Frostwell Village, he asked them their story and for them to be truthful, but they were hesitant and asked for some time to talk. He left them alone. While they were talking Oleg Mirnov's daugther Katya Mirnova came out with some tea and whale blubber, etc. to eat. The party made Callum drink the tea first to see if it was poison, which he was not happy about but eventually did.
When the party said something about Theo and Seylon, Oleg told them about the prophecy and the obelisks, etc. Katya was visibly upset that he was revealing all of this information. He said the kids might be part of the prophecy and wanted to bring them to the Obelisks. Katya was outraged and confused about why he was telling them all this, but she came with them.
The party solved the puzzle at the obelisks to open up the gate and descended down into an ancient frozen throne room.
Oleg betrayed them and petrified Caoimhe and Finlay and ran ahead. Katya was horrified and ran ahead after her father. Otto also ran ahead and saw him go into another room (the ring chamber).
Callum brought Finlay back, who brought Caoimhe back, and they ran ahead. Oleg found the floating ring and put it on, started writhing in pain and shapeshifting until finally the ring fell onto the ground and he (in another form) was passed out. Otto cast incarserus on him to bind him.
They heard a noise from the throne room and a wight was coming after them with a giant necrotic sword. It attacked Caoimhe first and eventually brought her down to death saves. Slowly but surely, the party was able to bring it down with Katya's help.
The party decided they needed to rest before going on, all of them exhausted. Katya helped them by conjuring some food, etc.
