Level 1 - Alchemy Lab
As you step onto the worn stone floor, a heavy warmth clings to the air. In the center of the vast circular chamber looms a massive self-stirring cauldron, its thick iron arms creaking as they churn a swirling, smoky brew.
Glass tubes snake from the ceiling like vines, dripping faintly glowing liquids into vats and valves around the room. The stone walls are lined with dusty workstations, splattered with centuries of forgotten experiments.
Mechanics
The goal of this level is to mix the correct ingredients to produce a potion that allows passing through the wall at the top of the stairs going to the second level, Level 2 - Scrying Pools.
What's in the room:
- A giant self-stirring cauldron at the center
- Three side chambers, each with a giant valve dispensing a different ingredient
- Overhead tubing connects everything to the cauldron
- One valve in the main room that adds water (to create the potion)
Players must select and combine ingredients.
- Success: Creates a potion that allows them to move through the wall
- Failure: Each incorrect mix summons a monster or causes a hazardous event
Ingredients:
- Valve A: Sulfurous Powder (volatile)
- Valve B: Crystallized Lotus Dust (stabilizing)
- Valve C: Essence of Aether (ethereal catalyst)
