Description

Silas Carrow is a young boy of fourteen with dark eyes but softer, more conflicted features. He has the lean build of someone trained extensively in dueling, and his hands are marked with silver scars from dark magical training. His wand (thirteen inches, blackthorn and thestral tail hair) is nearly always within immediate reach, a habit born from constant vigilance.

Personality

Silas is brilliant, disciplined, and deeply conflicted, possessing extraordinary magical talent but harboring profound doubts about his mother's cause that he has never voiced aloud. Where Morgana is fire and fury, Silas is ice and precision—he speaks rarely but with intelligence that surprises those who underestimate him. Despite his dark training, he has a carefully hidden capacity for compassion and has occasionally sabotaged his mother's plans in subtle ways.

Background

Silas has no official existence in the wizarding world—his mother declared him a squib as an infant, then secretly trained him in the Dark Arts for over a decade at her hidden estate. He has never known his father, and Morgana refuses to discuss it. He has been involved in several of his mother's operations but has been carefully shielded from being forced to kill, though he knows several Unforgivable Curses and is proficient in Occlumency. He excels at infiltration and magical support, and in a straight duel could hold his own against adult wizards despite his youth, but he has recently begun to dream of escape while not knowing where he would go or who would accept him.

Silas represents a potential redemption arc or tragic fall. His prodigious magical ability makes him extremely dangerous, but his lack of social development and emotional manipulation by his mother make him vulnerable.

Key facts:

  • He has never attended any magical school and has no official identity
  • His wand was purchased under a false name through black market channels
  • His greatest fear is becoming exactly like his mother
  • He has a hidden collection of "forbidden" books—not dark magic texts, but novels about ordinary wizards living ordinary lives

Possible developments:

  • The party might encounter him during one of his mother's operations
  • He could become an unwilling antagonist who secretly helps the party
  • He might eventually defect and bring crucial intelligence about his mother's plans
  • If pushed too far or if his mother is threatened, he could fully embrace darkness

His relationship with his mother is simultaneously his greatest strength (her training made him formidable) and his greatest weakness (he cannot break free of her control).
