Description

Bellatrix's Children is a secretive cell of former Death Eaters that Professor Wizzlethorpe first warned the party about. They take their name from Bellatrix Lestrange, as tribute and as ambition. According to Ministry interrogations of captured Death Eaters, they are hunting the relics made by Seylon Vane, convinced that one of them can raise the dead.

Background

The party first met their operatives in the frozen north. Nyx infiltrated Frostwell Village, murdered Oleg Mirnov and wore his face to trick the party into opening the Circle of Eight, a thing the village guardians had failed to do for four hundred years. When the party emerged from the dungeon beneath it, Death Eaters ambushed them and demanded the ring, and one of them held Otto under the Cruciatus Curse before Tobias Crane and Rafael Santos apparated in. The Ministry questioned the captives, and that is where the cell's name came from.

They have not left the party alone since. Two of them walked into the Great Hall at Hogwarts and came straight for Callum. Two witches and a boy killed a goblin in the Vane Vault trying to take the ring the party found there. And in a cabin in the woods, a mounted sheep's head named Fredrickson told them what he had watched happen: Morgana Carrow and Nyx carrying Callum's parents away.

What the party has learned

  • The cell wants Seylon's rings, and believes one of them has power over death.
  • Morgana Carrow and Nyx work together, and both were at the cabin.
  • They hold Callum's parents, and kept them somewhere with cells and a potion lab.
  • They are researching Floo crystals brewed with blood, and are waiting on something to do with the network: "Keep watch, we do not know exactly when they will use the network."
  • They will torture and kill children without hesitating.
  • Someone was writing to Primrose claiming to be Harry Potter, steering her toward Seylon's Tower. The party thinks the letters were fake. Primrose never did. They have since stopped.
