Description

An aged house-elf with enormous bat-like ears, huge warm brown eyes, and wispy grey tufts of hair over a wrinkled, kindly face. He wears a threadbare pillowcase pressed carefully clean, stamped with a faded Noxley crest, and he carries himself with an anxious little stoop, always half-braced to be needed.

Personality

Gentle, devoted, and perpetually worried. Nettle half-raised Otto and loves him fiercely, and he was the one warm presence in a cold house. He frets, apologizes, and fusses, but there is a quiet stubbornness in him where Otto's wellbeing is concerned.

Background

Bound to the Noxley family for generations, Nettle has served the estate his whole life and knows every room, passage, and secret in it. To Bridget he is a fond fixture; to Otto he is family, the one warm presence who half-raised him in a cold house.

Story

The party met Nettle when they came to Noxley Hall in Session 15 - The Party at Noxley Hall, and he nearly caught an invisible Caoimhe as she crept out to eavesdrop on Arthur, before Otto ordered him to let the intruder go. In Session 16 - Order Is Mercy Otto pressed him until he gave up the password to the trophy-room door, which he did unhappily and with a warning.
