Distant to the point of coldness, and sparing with both words and warmth. She is not cruel, but she gives nothing she has not decided to give.
Background
Finlay was raised by her in near-isolation. She never called herself his mother and he never asked. Whispers around her hinted at a forbidden affair with a powerful wizard that ended in scandal and death, and that Finlay was the only good thing to come of it. She never confirmed any of it.
She taught him what she knew: to speak with animals, to heal with his will, and to survive the untamed. One stormy night she handed him a Hogwarts letter and said only, "You need to go."
