Description
A Lethifold looks like a black cloak about half an inch thick, a little thicker where it has recently fed. It glides along the floor or drifts through the air at night, and it makes no sound at all. It smothers its prey where it lies and digests it on the spot, leaving no trace: not a bone, not a button.
Background
Also called the Living Shroud. Lethifolds are tropical and very rare, and the few known accounts come from survivors who woke under one. Almost nothing works on them. The single known defence is a Patronus, which drives one off and has been known to make it flee outright.
