Description

A Galleon that is slightly too warm, with a serial number around the rim that does not match any coin in circulation. Rafael gave one to each of them and kept the fifth.

Mechanics

• A Protean Charm links the five coins. Press the rim and the number on every other coin changes to the number on yours, and the coins grow hot enough to notice through a pocket.
• Anyone holding a linked coin knows which coin called and can Apparate to it, or to the nearest point outside anti-Apparition wards, as if it were a known destination.
• It carries no message. Its only meaning is come now.
• It works through anything that stops an owl or a Patronus, including Azkaban's wards. It does not work on the Hogwarts grounds, where nobody can Apparate anyway.

Notes

Tobias's rule: "If you use it for anything short of dying, I will take it back."
